Custom bellows for large format cameras. Handmade on request.

Custom bellows for large format cameras. Customizable size, extension, material and corner style. All formats supported: 4×5/5×7/8×10 inches, 9×12/13×18/18×24 cm, ULF (ultra large format) and more. Our bellows are made of two thin opaque layers with internal ribs. Black by default, color upon request. Manufacturing time approximately 2 weeks.

Use your camera frames to determine the size of your bellows by measuring them on the outside perimeter (if you wish, you can order new frames too and we will assemble all components for you free of charge.) The total number pleats is calculated using a standard formula, following functional and aesthetic criteria. If you want a specific number of pleats, please indicate this in your order.

The maximum (usable) extension of the bellows must be carefully calculated. This field is related, on one hand, to the focal lengths of your lenses (telephoto require longer bellows than wide-angle) but also to the focusing distance (the closer you focus, the longer bellows you need). As a rule of thumb, “Max. extension” ranges from 1 x focal-length if only shooting distant objects to 2 x focal-length for 1:1 macro. Since you probably own several lenses and shoot at various distances, you need to find the most limiting settings. For a better estimate use the thin lens equation or simply contact us.

The “Min. extension” field offers the ability to specify the desired thickness of your bellows when fully folded. This field is optional, empty by default, and only required if your camera has physical constraints, such as a closing mechanism that requires high compactness. Note that our standard bellows are quite thin, but any additional compactness will be achieved using thinner materials and perhaps fewer pleats, which as result, may slightly affect the sturdiness and appearance of your bellows. Therefore, consider this field a trade-off.

Please, note that there are dependencies between some input fields to avoid unwanted configurations. If you don’t see a quote, just review your selection or enter new input values. Orders already in process cannot be canceled. Returns will only be accepted if the product is damaged or defective. As a handmade product, there may be small deviations from the original order.

Custom bellows for medium format and other portable cameras. Handmade on request.

Custom bellows for medium format and other portable cameras. Customizable size, number of pleats and max. extension. Suitable for 35mm, 6×4.5, 6×6, 6×7, 6×8, 6×9, stereoscopic or panoramic cameras and more. Our bellows are made of two thin opaque black layers with chamfered corners and synthetic exterior. We use our finest materials to provide very high folding density (approx. 0.65 mm per full pleat). Manufacturing time approximately 1 week.

Use your camera frames to determine the size of your bellows by measuring them on the outside perimeter. You can optionally set the number of pleats or else we will calculate it using a formula. Note that the bellows have different number of pleats on contiguous sides, therefore we use two number for its labeling (for example, the bellows from the cover picture has 4-5 pleats).

Some cameras offer a wide range of articulation for focusing, tilting, closing, etc. Please, provide accurate measurements to avoid incompatibility or malfunction. If possible, send us details of your camera for our reference: Brand, model, serial number, pictures.
